The infectiologist and internist, Julio Castro, warned that in the coming months there could be a new increase in Covid-19 cases as new contagions peak worldwide.
Given this scenario, Castro expressed that international alerts about the pandemic should create a signal of caution and security in the country, which is equivalent to new social restrictions.
“We have made progress in terms of the drugs used to treat Covid-19, we have ruled out those that do not work and we have others that do work,” he said.
He pointed out two years after the start of the Coronavirus pandemic that the first thing to learn is to manage uncertainty and to operate based on what is really known at this time.
Castro pointed out that possibly in the coming months there will be new advances with new vaccine schemes or more effective drug schemes than those that exist at this time.
He stressed that there is no medicine, so far, that prevents Covid-19 infection and new things will probably be seen that help against the virus.
