The diplomatic representative of the President in Charge Juan Guaidó in Argentina, ambassador Elisa Trotta Gamus, repudiated the support provided by Nicolás Maduro’s regime to the invasion ordered by Vladimir Putin in Ukraine.
In an interview with journalist Eduardo Feinmann, on Radio Mitre, Ms. Trotta said she felt “shame” for Maduro’s statements, in which he offered economic support to Russia to face the sanctions imposed by the international community.
“It is a mixture of shame and disbelief, and one cannot help but feel horrified and also feel that there is something of a joke in what Maduro stated, yesterday he wanted to say that he was willing to sell Russia everything it needs. We are talking about the fact that Venezuela is a country with 96% poverty. What can you sell to Russia? This is further evidence that Maduro really does not care about people in order to ingratiate himself with this murderous czar.”
She stressed that Maduro and Putin are now two leaders who have in common that they are being investigated by The Hague. “These two criminals have something else to be united, and that is that now they are both being investigated by the International Criminal Court for crimes against humanity,” she said.
The diplomatic representative appointed by the National Assembly elected in 2015 warned about “the seriousness that Maduro’s alliance with Putin represents for the security of the region.”
“Venezuela has a strategic location and we must understand the danger that it would be to export such a serious danger and open the doors to this in Latin America, as Venezuela has already done since 2005 to Russia. These strategic alliances are extremely dangerous, they include the purchase of very important weapon systems, there is even talk of Russian military bases in Venezuela,” she stated.
Finally, she considered that: “lovers of democracy and freedom have to give real dimension to what is happening” and called for the support of the Ukrainian people.
Conversé con @edufeiok en @radiomitre sobre el apoyo del dictador Maduro al invasor Putin, ambos criminales investigados por la CPI, que no significa un peligro solo para los venezolanos sino para toda la región.
