The Venezuelan Chargé d’Affaires in Colombia, Eduardo Battistini, reported that Russia’s military intervention in the Venezuelan Armed Forces was confirmed, according to a recent report by the Caracol News network.
“It confirms what we Venezuelans always knew. The presence of Russian model P-18 radars in the border area with Colombia is a clear example of the Russian penetration in our country,” stated Mr. Battistini in a message posted on his Twitter account.
The Venezuelan diplomatic representative stressed that there is information “that these radars were installed approximately 10 days ago in the border areas of Zulia, Táchira, Apure and Falcón states”
In this regard, he pointed out that apart from their main function, they can intercept, identify and capture any communication, including WhatsApp conversations (SIGINT).
Similarly, the Venezuelan official stressed that Maduro’s regime maintains cyber-attack and message capture teams on the Colombian-Venezuelan border.
“All under the advice of Russian and Iranian personnel,” he added.
“In the midst of Russia’s criminal invasion of Ukraine and Maduro’s support for Vladimir Putin, the presence of these teams in Venezuelan territory represents a danger to the stability of the region, so this situation must be raised with the international community,” he concluded.
