This Sunday the Venezuelan Ambassador to Hungary, Enrique Alvarado, visited the Beregsurany border crossing, the main gateway for Ukrainians fleeing the Russian genocide.
The representative of the Legitimate Government went to the border at the invitation of Aid of Malta, the most important humanitarian aid NGO in Central Europe, founded by the Hungarian-Venezuelan Csilla Von Boeselager.
Ambassador Alvarado regretted that given the increase in war activity in the border area, his request to be authorized to enter Ukrainian territory was rejected.
However, he highlighted the support of the Government of President in Charge, Juan Guaidó, to all the victims of this cowardly attack by Russia.
“The Venezuelan flag made an appearance at the border,” said the Venezuelan diplomat.
An important multidisciplinary logistics infrastructure has been installed in place to receive and care for all the refugees.
Subsequently, they are registered by the Hungarian authorities, transferred to ‘Maltese Aid’ and to the Zahony train station, from where they are taken to the Nyugati station in Budapest.
It is estimated that 299,273 thousand displaced persons have entered Hungary from Ukraine so far.
